Compared with TripIt
Sí Listo vs TripIt for group travel
TripIt is better once everything is booked. Sí Listo is better before that, when the group still has to decide and pay for things.
TripIt does one thing extremely well: you forward it confirmation emails and it assembles them into a clean, reliable travel timeline. For frequent travellers, and especially for flights, it is hard to beat.
It is solving the second half of the problem. TripIt starts once things are booked; the group trip that goes wrong usually goes wrong before that — in the deciding, the tracking of who booked what, and the money.
Side by side
What each does, stated plainly. Where TripIt is stronger, the table says so.
| Feature | Sí Listo | TripIt |
|---|---|---|
| Where it starts | Before anything is booked | After confirmations exist |
| Building the plan | Generated day by day from four questions | Assembled from your confirmation emails |
| Flights and travel documents | Not handled | Stronger — parsing, alerts, seat and gate detail |
| Group decisions | Voting and shared editing | Sharing a plan, not deciding together |
| Expense splitting | Built in, with settle-up | No |
| Dietary requirements | Each venue checked against what it publishes | No |
| Restaurant and activity suggestions | Core of the product | No |
Where TripIt is the better choice
Genuinely. If one of these describes your situation, use it instead — you will be happier and we would rather you came back for the trip it does suit.
Flights, and travel logistics generally
Parsing confirmations, tracking flight changes, gate and seat detail. If your trip's complexity is in the getting there, TripIt is the better tool and it is not close.
Frequent, repeated travel
It is built for someone who travels constantly and wants every booking to land in one timeline without thinking about it. That is a different job from planning one weekend for twelve people.
Working from your inbox
Forwarding an email is less effort than entering anything anywhere. For confirmations you already have, that is a genuinely better interaction than ours.
Where we think we are better
It works before anything is booked
The decisions, the arguing and the tracking of what is still only an idea — all of which happen before a single confirmation email exists.
The group is the unit, not the traveller
Voting, shared editing, attributed changes, and a record of who booked what. TripIt can share a plan; it cannot help twelve people agree on one.
The money
Expenses split between the people they were for, and a settle-up that produces the minimum set of transfers to square the group off.
It suggests things
Restaurants, mornings, afternoons — checked against what the group can eat and ordered so the day makes geographic sense.
Questions people ask
- Can I use both?
- Sensibly, yes. Plan and settle the group trip here; let TripIt hold the flights. They do not overlap much.
- Does Sí Listo track flights?
- No. It asks whether flights and accommodation are booked because that changes what it offers you, but it does not parse confirmations or track flight status.
- Does it import confirmation emails?
- No. Bookings are marked on the plan by whoever made them, which is what lets the rest of the group see what is actually confirmed.
- Which should a group of twelve use?
- Ours for the planning, deciding and money. TripIt alongside it if several people are flying in separately and want their own travel timeline.
- Is there an app to install?
- It runs in the browser and can be added to a phone's home screen, where it opens like an app.
Plan it in about a minute
Four questions — where, when, who with, and anything the group can't eat. You get the whole trip back, day by day, and a link to send the others.
